2013 BERA Conference

Launch of 'Other Education' journal

As a key moment for education research, October 2012 saw the launch of the first BERA associated (edited by a BERA member and SIG co-convener) journal looking at educational alternatives: Other Education - the journal of educational alternatives (www.othereducation.org).

Nick Johnson appointed Chief Executive

The BERA Office will be led by a new Executive Director from 2nd April 2012. Nick Johnson will join Mark Donoghue and Farzana Rahman in implementing the operational objectives from strategy set by BERA Council.

Lingfield report "Professionalism in Further Education

Final report from an independent review chaired by Lord Lingfield. Makes recommendations to Government on a new framework for professionalism in further education in England within the context of Skills for sustainable growth strategy (URN 10/1274). It define how professionalism, in the absence of registration, might be characterised and supported in further education.
